Exodus 12:1
And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months:
it shall be the first month of the year to you....
50 Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies. Ex. 12:1-2 & 50-51
Chapter 12 of Exodus describes the brink of a new life, the turning of the tides if you would for the people of God. When you get a moment read the
whole chapter. Note a few things and hear what the Lord is saying.
1. God proclaimed a new year for His people. After great suffering and what looked like failed attempts to deliver, God pronounces and announces a new
day! And it is so!
2. The people of God must participate, co-operate, and obey the instructions to receive protection, provision, and miracles. There's no time to question, only time to obey.
3. Be ready to leave the old behind, take only what you need to move forward. Exodus 12:11 "And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's Passover."
4. Understand that there will be threats, but remember the Blood has been applied to your house and the destroyer has to Passover you!
5. In verse 51 God took a people who earlier weren't even a people and made them an army! He is the Creator, He is the Sustainer, He is the Deliverer, and He surely is FAITHFUL! He did it! He brought them out!
Happy Rosh Hashanah! Happy Jewish New Year! This is your Exodus!!
